MRVED Provides SES Services

In June 2009, the MRVED was approved as a Supplemental Educational Services (SES) provider for its 8 member districts (Benson, Dawson-Boyd, Lac qui Parle Valley, Lakeview, Montevideo, Ortonville, Renville County West, and Yellow Medicine East) by the Minnesota Department of Education. SES is a tutoring service provided under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act to "eligible" students. SES services are in addition to instruction provided during the school day. These services must be of high quality, research based, and specifically designed to increase a student’s academic achievement. SES is available for Reading and Math, and parents can choose the private provider of their choice from those approved by the MN Department of Education.
The MRVED will be starting SES services in January 2010 at the Bert Raney Elementary School in Granite Falls, MN. See attached flyer for details and contact information.
