MRVED educators are collaborating through eLearning Communities

One hundred ninety-six MRVED educators have joined one of twenty-three MRVED eLearning Communities on Moodle. Moodle is a free, open-source web application for producing internet-based courses. Each community has a facilitator to guide participants through the process. Last summer the facilitators received training in using Moodle and started recruiting members in the fall of 2008. The eLearning community members are learning to use Moodle, share resources, and experiment with Web 2.0 tools. The eLearning Communities are a part of the Enhancing Education Through Technology Grant that the MRVED was awarded in May 2008.
