Enhancing Education Through Technology (E2T2)

MRVED receives new grant for technology integration

June 26, 2008

The Minnesota River Valley Education District was recently awarded nearly $150,000 to enhance student learning and improve students’ academic achievement through the integration of technology with instruction in their member schools.

Building Integrating Technology (IT) Toolboxes is the goal of their E2T2 project. Three professional development models will be assembled to build the knowledge and skills of teachers resulting in the genuine integration of technology into their classrooms. Through the lesson study process, 80 teachers will collaboratively create model lessons that integrate technology, differentiate to meet the needs of special populations, and increase student learning. Facilitated eLearning communities will provide teachers, administrators, and board members with the scaffolding to learn and apply at least 10 new technology skills. Twenty site-based IT specialists will present colleagues with opportunities to learn new technology skills and will support teachers in effectively integrating technology into their curriculum. This proposal will present 500 teachers, 30 administrators, and 56 board members with the opportunity to build IT Toolboxes, reaching a potential of 6800 students.
